It's been a busy summer and I haven't posted anything in a while, but I did get a few paintings done over the past few months and this is one of them. I'd never painted a plum or fig before and I really enjoyed painting the deep blacks and the cool, dusty blueish tones in the lights. Not only had I never painted a fig before, I had never even looked at a green fig closely. I was genuinely surprised to see that it's pink inside and pleasantly sweet. I'll have to paint the inside of one another time!
